MARTIN J. BOBOVETZ, 81



AUSTINTOWN -- Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home in Austintown and at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Martin J. Bobovetz, 81, of 3940 Elmwood Ave., who died Thursday morning in St. Elizabeth Health Center's emergency room.
Mr. Bobovetz was born June 30, 1919, in Bethlehem, Pa., a son of Martin and Rose Bobovetz, and came here as a child.
He graduated in 1938 from East High School, served in the Army during World War II, and retired in 1980 from Youngstown State University's maintenance department, where he had worked eight years. He previously retired in 1972 from Truscon Division of Republic Steel, where he worked 31 years.
He was a member of the church and its senior citizens group and breakfast club, and was also a member of Knights of Columbus Monsignor Mears Council.
His wife, the former Betty Mae Gregosits, whom he married May 18, 1946, died March 13, 1999.
He leaves a son, Michael J. of Austintown; two brothers, Louis of Youngstown and Frank of Naples, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
A son, Ronald, died in infancy, and a brother is also deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Vision 2000.
