MAMIE J. WALTERS, 72
WARREN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Friendship Baptist Church in Youngstown for Mamie J. Walters, 72, of 2966 Red Fox Run Drive, who died Tuesday morning at her residence.
Mrs. Walters was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Brewton, Ala., a daughter of Wallace and Estella Randolph Walters, and moved here from Winter Garden, Fla., 48 years ago.
She retired in 1993 after 24 years at Packard Electric Division of General Motors, where she was a molder. She graduated in 1948 from Jones High School in Alabama, where she played basketball.
She was a member of the church and its Mothers Board and also was an usher. She was a member of St. Mary Chapter 21 Eastern Stars and the International Union of Electrical Workers Local 717.
She leaves two sons, Larry L. Walters of Rochester, N.Y., and Vincent Walters of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Patricia Ann Pugh, a brother, Albert R. Walters, and a sister, Katherine Walters, all of Warren; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Four brothers, Cleveland, Preston, Willie and Robert Walters, and a sister, Linnie Mae Jackson, are deceased.
Friends may call for one hour before the service Saturday in the church. Arrangements are by Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home in Warren.
