JOSEPH P. MARSZENSKI, 89



AUSTINTOWN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home and 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Joseph P. Marszenski, 89, of Austinwoods Care Center, formerly of North Main Street, who died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Marszenski was born March 17, 1912, in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Josephine Sobnosky Marszenski.
He retired in 1978 from Hynes Industries, where he was a steelworker for 16 years. Before that, he worked at Briggs and Chrysler Manufacturing Co. and Carnegie/Youngstown steel mills.
He was a member of the church and a member of the Polish National Alliance. He attended Rayen High School.
Besides his wife, the former Mary T. Meleski, whom he married July 26, 1932, he leaves two daughters, Vera Draus of Dearborn, Mich., and Martha Ann Romeo of Youngstown; two sisters, Estelle Sterling of Austintown and Dorothy Kumik of Youngstown; a brother, William Marshall of Youngstown; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Martha Summers, and a brother, Kenneth Marshall, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and for a half-hour before services at the funeral home.
