YOUNGSTOWN -- When police arrested Isaac Taylor after a shootout on the South Side, they had seven old warrants waiting for him.
Taylor, 19, of East Florida Avenue, faces a new charge of carrying a concealed weapon and illegal possession of a weapon. Last month, municipal judges issued arrest warrants when he failed to appear in court on charges of drug abuse and six traffic violations.
Police also arrested two others.
Tramaine A. McDonald, 21, of Mabel Avenue is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of crack, possession of marijuana and an old warrant charging drug abuse.
Adrienne Washington, 21, of Ravine Road is charged with illegal posession of a weapon, possession of drugs, possession of a dangerous ordnance and drug abuse-marijuana.
Where it happened: The shootout took place late Wednesday afternoon on East Avondale Avenue. Shots had been fired from two cars, a white Cadillac and maroon Pontiac Bonneville, according to reports.
Taylor had been chased on foot by Sgt. Randy Williams, a Youngstown State University Campus police officer and member of the Mahoning Valley Drug Task Force. Williams had his gun drawn during the chase.
The men were all due in municipal court today for arraignment.
Police said they found a M-1000 explosive in the car Washington drove. The device was turned over to the bomb squad.
A loaded .45-caliber that had been thrown into bushes on Avondale was recovered by police.
A 9 mm handgun, marijuana and crack were found in the car, driven by Washington, in which McDonald was a passenger. Another gun and drugs were found in the car's center console, police said.
