MARIA ALVAREZ TORRES, 81

YOUNGSTOWN -- Services were conducted in San Miguel Church, Utuado, Puerto Rico, for Maria Alvarez Torres, 81, of Vivi Arriba No. 7, Puerto Rico, who died March 6 at home after a long illness.
Mrs. Torres was born Feb. 29, 1920, in Puerto Rico, a daughter of Juan and Dolores Alvarez Natal, and came to Youngstown in 1955. She returned to Puerto Rico in 1981.
Besides her husband, Luis, whom she married Sept. 16, 1944, she leaves a daughter, Mary Isa Garayua of Campbell; a son, Louis A. of Austintown; two sisters, Isabel Rosado of Aston, Pa., and Inez Alvarez of Puerto Rico; a brother, Julio Alvarez in Puerto Rico; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Candida Santana and Felipa Alvarez; and two brothers, Antonio and Francisco Alvarez, are deceased.
Arrangements were by Utuado Memorial Funeral Home in Puerto Rico.
