STRUTHERS -- Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, Pa., for Joseph E. Chalfant, 53, of 5 Reed St., formerly of Bedford, Pa., and Somerset, who died of a heart attack Monday while on the job in Richmond, Ind.
Mr. Chalfant was born July 26, 1947, in Bedford, a son of John and Bertha Mitchell Chalfant.
He was a driver for Southwind Trucking of Youngstown and a member of Teamster's Local 261 in New Castle. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War era.
He leaves his wife, the former Patricia Cane; two sons, Gary in Louisiana and Joseph of Struthers; two daughters, Bobbie Blackburn in Louisiana and Tanya Chalfant of Struthers; five brothers, Ray of Cacola Beach, Fla., John and Jerry, both of Lowellville, Robert of Youngstown and Bill of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Anna Lawler of Andover; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
