JANET MAE SEWALL, 69

SHARON, Pa. -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sample-O'Donnell Funeral Home for Janet Mae Sewall, 69, of 800 Linden St., who died of emphysema Monday in Sharon Regional Health System's hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Sewall was born Oct. 24, 1931, in New Castle, a daughter of Marvin and Grace Kerrigan Hawthorne. A 1949 graduate of New Wilmington High School, she was a member and volunteer of Salvation Army and a member of its senior citizens group. She also was a Cub Scout den mother.
Her husband, Robert J., whom she married July 20, 1951, died Oct. 1, 1996.
She leaves a son, Jeffrey R. of Pleasanton, Calif.; two daughters, Jacquelyn Askerneese of Watertown, N.Y., and Judy Sipusic of Youngstown; a sister, Mabel Funk of Largo, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to American Lung Association or the Salvation Army.
