CHARLES CYCYK, 74
POLAND -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Clemente Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church, both of Struthers, for Charles Cycyk, 74, of 2346 Manor Ave., who died Wednesday morning in Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Mr. Cycyk was born Aug. 25, 1926, in Youngstown, a son of John and Helen Sabat Cycyk, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a boilermaker for Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube Brier Hill and Campbell works and attended Youngstown College and Butler Institute of American Art.
He attended the church and was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of the VFW in Youngstown, was a fourth-degree black belt in Aikido and taught at Aikido schools on Belle Vista, Market Street and Wick Avenue. He also taught martial arts at Scandinavian Health Club in Boardman.
Besides his wife, the former Lucy DeVecchio, whom he married June 22, 1946, he leaves a son, John Sr. of Struthers; a daughter, Loretta Angelo of Youngstown; a sister, Stella Wainwright of Niles; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A sister, Katherine Stevens, is deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
