CARL GATTI, 83

CORNERSBURG -- Services will be at noon Friday at Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers for Carl Gatti, 83, of 2958 Canfield Road, formerly of 1525 Bancroft Avenue, Youngstown, who died Tuesday night at Camelot Arms Care Center.
Mr. Gatti was born Aug. 30, 1917, in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Rose Gatti, and lived here all his life.
He worked 30 years at Truscon Steel Corp. before retiring as an inspector and was a custodian for Canfield Schools. He was a member of Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church, Elks 2536 in Struthers and bowled in and was secretary for the Seniors at MarHill Lanes. He also bowled at Holiday Bowl.
His wife, the former Evelyn Stanyard, whom he married June 24, 1940, died Sept. 20, 1992.
He leaves a daughter, Kathy Shaffer of Struthers; a brother, Joseph of Wooster, Ohio; a sister, Agnes Sammartino of Youngstown; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A son, Carl W. Jr.; a brother, Frank; and four sisters, Katherine Gatti, Emma Hale, Amelia Bailey and Judy Spain, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
