MARILYN J. THORPE, 61



WARREN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Bazetta Christian Church for Marilyn J. Thorpe, 61, of 3109 Woodbine Ave. S.E., who died Tuesday at home after a short illness.
Mrs. Thorpe was born June 13, 1939, in Youngstown, a daughter of James A. and Martha Sweeney Cummins, and lived in the area all her life.
She graduated in 1957 from Champion High School and received associate degrees in business management and accounting from Kent State University Trumbull Campus. She worked 34 years at Packard Electric Division of General Motors before retiring in 1997 as an inspector.
She was a member of the church and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Some Place Safe and Farmington Masonic Temple.
She leaves two daughters, Sue Hodge of Kent and Leslie Mayes of North Kingstown, R.I.; two brothers, James Cummins Jr. of Albert Lee, Minn., and Thomas Cummins of Warren; four sisters, Patricia Alba of Waco, Texas, Laurel Garcia of Ontario, Calif., Martha Fritch of Warren and Dorothy Roof of San Francisco, Calif.; two half brothers, Robert Davison Sr. of Bloomfield and Richard Davison of Columbiana; a stepbrother, David Cummins of Collins, Ga.; three stepsisters, Virginia Howell of Jefferson, Florence Martie of Warren and Roberta Risher of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a grandchild.
A half brother, Billy Davison, and two stepsisters, Lois Kemmer and Barbara Zoller, are deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Roberts-Clark Memorial Home in Warren. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northeast Ohio, 219 North River Road N.W., Warren 44483.
