LAWRENCE V. MCLAUGHLIN, 89



ROGERS -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Church of the Nazarene, East Palestine, for Lawrence V. McLaughlin, 89, of Blossom Nursing Center, who died Tuesday morning in the center, where he had been a patient for 18 months.
Mr. McLaughlin was born, June 6, 1911, in West Point, Ohio, a son of James and Emma Blanche Latshaw McLaughlin. He had lived in Rogers most of his life, moving to Salem in 1991 to live with his daughter.
He had been a heavy equipment operator for many years, a maintenance man at the Firestone Test Center for 20 years, and also was a farmer.
He was a member of the church, where he had been a Sunday school teacher for many years. He also had been Sunday school superintendent and served as a trustee board member.
His wife, the former Viola G. Cusick, whom he married June 7, 1934, died May 26, 1988.
He leaves two daughters, Ruth Marsh of Lordstown and Rella Anderson of Salem; seven sons, James, Larry and Frederick, all of Columbiana, Leroy of Rogers, Leonard of Bethlehem, Pa., Ronald of Garfield Heights and Arnold of East Fairfield; 29 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A sister, Irene Tucker, and a brother, Norman, are deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana, and one hour before services in the church.
