ELI MICHAEL MASICH, 84
GIRARD -- Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at McClurkin Funeral Home, Girard, and at noon in Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, Austintown, for Eli Michael Masich, 84, of 436 E. Liberty St., who died of heart failure Tuesday morning in the emergency room of Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Youngstown.
Mr. Masich was born Aug. 18, 1916, in Chicago, Ill., a son of Michael and Milka Masich, and moved to this area as a child.
He worked for the Ohio Department of Liquor Control for 35 years and was an investigator in the enforcement division when he retired in 1986.
He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II and was a member of the church and the Serbian National Federation in Pittsburgh.
He leaves his wife, the former Leona Lesho, whom he married Feb. 2, 1961; a son, Michael E. of Girard; a daughter, Mary Ann Pollee of Mattawan, Mich.; a brother, Nicholas of Woodbury, N.J.; three sisters, Mary Masich and Estella Vuksich, both of Santa Clara, Calif., and Sophia Balmer in Georgia; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
