RICHARD E. GALLAGHER, 74



WHEATLAND, Pa. -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home, Sharon, for Richard E. Gallagher, 74, of 145 Mercer Ave., who died Sunday evening in Sharon Regional Health System hospital.
Mr. Gallagher was born Oct. 28, 1926, in West Monterey, Pa., a son of Edward F. and Leurie McCall Gallagher, and came to Sharon in 1948.
He was a storeroom clerk for Westinghouse Electric's Sharon Transformer Division for 38 years before retiring in 1985.
A member of VFW Post 7073 in Parker, Pa., he was a World War II Navy veteran who served in the Pacific Theater. He was a 1944 graduate of Parker High School.
Besides his wife, the former Sara J. Witherup, whom he married April 28, 1952, he leaves a son, Dennis J. of Niles, and a brother, James T. of Grove City.
A brother, Gerald C., is deceased.
