WARREN -- Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at F.E. Runner Funeral Home, Elkins, W.Va., for Orville E. Killingsworth, 77, of 107 Aspen Court, who died Monday in Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles after a long illness.
Mr. Killingsworth was born March 15, 1924, in Mabie, W.Va., a son of Fred and Mimey Hammons Killingsworth, and came to this area in 1969.
He retired in 1993 after 24 years at Packard Electric Division of General Motors, and before that was owner and operator of a barbershop from 1958 to 1969 in Beverly, W.Va.
He served in the Army during World War II, earning a Purple Heart. He was a member of Welcome Tabernacle in Mill Creek, W.Va., and took several trips to the Holy Land.
He leaves his wife, the former Lelia Mick, whom he married Feb. 2, 1947; a daughter, Sue Smith of Sandyville, W.Va.; two sons, Rodger L. of Howland and Stephen of Rochester Hills, Mich.; two brothers, Richard of Verona, Va., and Eugene of Mill Creek, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A sister, Eliza Killingsworth, died in infancy, and a brother, Clayton, is also deceased.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Elkins. Local arrangements are by Roberts-Clark Memorial Home.
