MICHAEL RAY OAKMAN, 44
NILES -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home for Michael Ray Oakman, 44, of 259 North Road, who died of cancer Monday morning in Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital's emergency room.
Mr. Oakman was born Feb. 25, 1957, in Waynesboro, Pa., a son of Earl E. and Gloria D. Swift Oakman. He came to Trumbull County in 1963.
He was a cook for Denny's Restaurant in Niles for 27 years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was an artist, Eagle Scout, and 1975 graduate of Howland High School. He received bachelor's degrees in science and art in 1991 from Kent State University.
Besides his parents of Warren, he leaves two brothers, Gregory A. of Austintown and David of Warren; a sister, Brenda Devenport of Austintown; a companion, Donna Garcia at home; and her son, Tony Garcia at home, whom he helped rear.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Cleveland Clinic Foundation Cancer Center.
