JOHN HNAT, 89
STRUTHERS -- Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wasko Funeral Home, Campbell, and at 9 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Youngstown, for John Hnat, 89, of 650 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, formerly of West Wilson Street, who died Sunday afternoon in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.
Mr. Hnat was born April 11, 1911, in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Anna Haladay Hnat, and lived in the area all his life.
He was a locomotive repairman for 40 years for P & amp;LE Railroad before retiring in 1976. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the church.
His wife, the former Mary Kluchar, whom he married Oct. 27, 1951, died April 23, 1989.
He leaves a sister, Mary Dussek of Youngstown; and his niece and caregiver, Beverly Chearno of Boardman.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Contributions may be made to the church renovation fund.
