JOHN ALBERT YURCHO SR., 72

YOUNGSTOWN -- Services were to be at 11 a.m. today at Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro, S.C., for John Albert Yurcho Sr., 72, of 1371 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro, formerly of the Youngstown area, who died Saturday at his residence.
Mr. Yurcho was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Youngstown, a son of Frank and Mary Avdey Yurcho. He was a retired conductor with the Youngstown Northern Railroad and had served in the Merchant Marine.
His wife, the former Mary C. Martin, died Nov. 29, 1989.
He leaves a daughter, Laraine Parker of Roselle, Ill.; three brothers, Joseph Yurcho of Vienna, Paul Avdey of Girard and Walter Avdey of Lowellville; a sister, Florence O. Smith of Deland, Fla.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A son, John A. Jr., is deceased.
