SALEM -- Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ickes Funeral Home for Hazel B. Wagnes, 93, of Essex of Salem, who died Sunday morning in the nursing home, where she had been a patient for more than two years.
Mrs. Wagnes was born Sept. 14, 1907, in Salem, a daughter of Albert and Rose Yoerns Knepper. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith.
Her first husband, Willis Stamp, died in 1955, and her second husband, Irwin Wagnes, died in 1990.
She leaves a son, Thomas Stamp of Murphy, N.C.; a daughter, Nancy Rek of Niles; a stepson, Roger Wagnes of Antigo, Wis.; a stepdaughter, Pamela Yakubek of Batavia, N.Y.; a brother, John Knepper of Pittsburgh; a sister, Kathryn Langenmayr of Crystal River, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Shirley McGaffick; two brothers, Raymond and Ralph Knepper; and two sisters, Esther Messersmith and Florence Milne, are deceased.
Friends may call for one hour before the service. Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund or the charity of the donor's choice.
