DORIS J. TARR, 70

BOARDMAN -- Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Davis Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. in St. Christine Church for Doris J. Tarr, 70, of 324 Melbourne Ave., formerly of Arden Boulevard, who died Saturday in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.
Mrs. Tarr was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Ellwood City, a daughter of Loy S. and Irene K. Robinson Roof, and lived in this area most of her life.
She was a waitress for the Strouss' Department Store restaurant and was a manager for Hamilton's Restaurant in Boardman.
She was a member of the church, Saxon Club Ladies Branch 22 and Leetonia Eagles Club, and had bowled in several leagues.
Her husband, James L. Sr., whom she married Dec. 11, 1948, died Feb. 2, 1999.
She leaves a son, James L. Jr. of Twinsburg, Ohio; a daughter, Jacquelyn M. Baber Tarr, with she made her home; two brothers, Jack F. Danks Jr. of Boardman and Frank F. Danks of Austintown; a sister, Martha Dripps of New Castle; and five grandchildren.
Three brothers, Loy Roof, Harry Roof and Robert Danks, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
