Bresko among runners set for HOF induction April 21
YOUNGSTOWN -- When Tom Bresko isn't running around his office in Mill Creek Park performing his duties of the park's Recreation Director, he can be found running throughout the spacious park for personal recreation.
The Chaney High and Ohio State graduate is one of four members of the Youngstown Road Runners Club to be honored at the club's Hall of Fame dinner on April 21.
Others: Penny (Laasko) Pavelko of Leetonia, William Kerrigan of Columbiana and Bob Rozeski of Columbiana will also be inducted into the club's hall.
Pavelko has taught math at Fitch High School, Lordstown, Youngstown State and at Leetonia since 1987. She is the only woman president of the Youngstown Road Runners Club.
She ran the Columbus Marathon three times.
Kerrigan, 59, has been running since 1982 and is a veteran of five marathons including Pittsburgh and New York City.
He was the club's president for four years in the 1990s.
Rozeski, 53, has twice run the Boston Marathon in 2 hours, 28 minutes and six times finished the Peace Race 25K in the top 12.
He's been a Road Runners member since 1977.
Bresko, 47, served on the Peace Race board of directors for 15 years, and has run three marathons including one in Paris, France in 2000.
He has also coordinated many races through Mill Creek Park.
