Italian Celebration
The Lawrence County Italian Celebration is planned for 7:30 a.m. to midnight June 23 at Cascade Park, East Washington Street, New Castle. Admission is $5. Children 12 and under are admitted free. 7:30 to 9 a.m. -- Breakfast in the park pavilion. Cost $3.50.9 to 9:30 a.m. -- Opening ceremony featuring area veterans and honor guards.9:45 to 10:45 a.m. -- Outdoor Mass celebrated by four area priests.Noon to 1 p.m. -- Live broadcast of "Italy Sings," a radio program on WKST-AM.1 p.m. -- Red Coat Band performs.2 p.m. -- "Uncle" Floyd Vivino, Italian comedian from Newark, N.J.3 p.m. -- Morenzo Fruzzetti, musician and singer.4 p.m. -- The Gaylords, Italian musicians from Reno, Nev.5 p.m. -- Blue Coat Band performs.6 p.m. -- Uncle Floyd Vivino.7 p.m. -- Moreno Fruzzetti.8 p.m. -- The Gaylords.9 p.m. to midnight -- Park dance featuring Rangel, a local band, in the park pavilion. Cost: $3.
