RUDY WATKINS, 82
AUSTINTOWN -- Private services will be Wednesday at Kinnick Funeral Home, Youngstown, for Rudy Watkins, 82, of 3953 Timber Lane, who died Saturday in Louis Stokes Veterans Medical Center, Cleveland.
Mr. Watkins was born Oct. 18, 1918, in Youngstown, a son of Albert and Minnie Fitch Watkins, and lived in the area most of his life.
He was a disabled Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater in three major battles, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans.
Besides his wife, the former Jean Herstich, whom he married Nov. 20, 1941, he leaves a son, Atty. Dennis of Howland; a daughter, Deborah Watkins of Cleveland; and three grandchildren.
His stepfather, Edward Ray, and a daughter, Lorene Watkins, are deceased.
There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown.
