Abduction reported
AUSTINTOWN -- Police found a Girard woman chained and handcuffed Monday night at the Econo Lodge on Seventy-six Drive. The woman, 43, told police she had been abducted at gunpoint Monday morning as she left her East Wilson Street home for work. The woman did not report sexual assault and the bed was not disturbed.
The woman said she was leaving her house about 3:15 a.m. when a man walked up, put a gun to her head and told her to get into her car. The pair picked up another man in Girard before going to the motel, she said. There, one man told her to get undressed, then received a call on his cell phone and left the room with the other man. When they returned, they handcuffed her, chained her, and discussed a heroin deal in Cincinnati -- then left.
The woman managed to call her boyfriend on her cellular phone. He then called police, who cut the chains and handcuffs.
