The first Taste of the Peninsula celebration will offer visitors a glimpse of Lake Erie life April 28 and 29. The Marblehead Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is offering a tour of a working limestone quarry and the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the Great Lakes.
Visitors will be able to sample local specialties and observe artists at work during the weekend. The area is home to the Lake Erie Islands and is visited by more than 3 million vacationers each year.
The celebration begins Saturday with a car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tours of the quarry begin run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. An arts and crafts show will be held in the community of Lakeside.
The International Chili Society will be host of the All-Ohio cook off Saturday and the regional cook-off Sunday at Camp Runinmuck.

Frick exhibitiontargets baseball
The Frick Art and Historical Center in Pittsburgh presents & quot;Driving It Home, & quot; an exhibition that showcases Pittsburgh's baseball players, teams and ballparks from 1909 through the 1970s. The exhibition is a collaboration between the Frick, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and the Greater Pittsburgh Convention and Visitors Bureau Office of Cultural Tourism.
& quot;Driving It Home & quot; contains photographs, fine art, artifacts and memorabilia. The exhibition is installed in the Frick's Car and Carriage Museum.
