CHLAMYDIA
Can infect the penis, vagina, cervix, anus, urethra, or eye. Chlamydia trachoma has been a major cause of blindness for centuries. Up to 85 percent of women and 40 percent of men with chlamydia have no symptoms.Women may experience bleeding between menstrual periods, vaginal bleeding after intercourse, abdominal pain, painful intercourse, low-grade fever, painful urination, the urge to urinate more than usual, cervical inflammation, abnormal vaginal discharge or a yellowish discharge from the cervix that may have a foul odor.Men may experience a discharge from the penis, pain or burning while urinating and swollen or tender testicles.
GONORRHEA
A bacterium that can cause sterility, arthritis, and heart problems in both sexes or pelvic inflammatory disease, which can result in sterility in women. During pregnancy, gonorrhea infections can cause premature labor and stillbirth. Eighty percent of women and 10 percent of men with gonorrhea show no symptoms.Women may experience frequent burning urination, menstrual irregularities, pelvic or lower abdominal pain, pain during sex or pelvic examination, a yellowish or yellow-green discharge from the vagina, swelling or tenderness of the vulva or arthritic pain. Men may experience a pus-like discharge from the urethra or pain during urination.
