PEARL WILLIAMS, 75
YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Black & amp; Phillips Funeral Home for Pearl Williams, 75, of 110 E. Wood St., Apt. 505, who was pronounced dead Tuesday at her home.
Mrs. Williams was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Chester, Ga., a daughter of George H. Sr. and Savanna Tyson Allen, and came to this area in 1940. She was a nurse's aide at Carrington South for 17 years, last working in 1992.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, NAACP, and was a former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and its choir.
Her husband, James J., died in 1980.
She leaves a daughter, Betty Ann Dubose of Youngstown; four sons, James Smith Jr. of Van Nuys, Calif., Thomas Smith of Washington, D.C., Joseph Hall Williams and Leroy J. Williams, both of Youngstown; a brother, Casey Allen of Eastman, Ga.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Virginia Smith Diggs; three sisters, Mattie Scott, Henrietta Gilbert and Bertha Nora Allen; and a brother, George Henry Allen Jr., are deceased.
Friends may call for one hour before services at the funeral home.
