YOUNGSTOWN -- A workshop for first-time home buyers, sponsored by Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Youngstown, will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Family Service Agency, 535 Marmion Ave.
Participants will receive certificates of attendance that satisfy the education requirement for some mortgage programs. Call (330) 782-9113 to register.
Task force meeting
YOUNGSTOWN -- Edna Pincham will speak at Friday's meeting of the Mayor's Task Force on Crime and Violence Prevention at 9 a.m. in council's caucus room. She will discuss her experiences as a member of the group that traveled to an organized crime symposium in Sicily. Task force meetings are open.
