Long Description:
For the past 86 years, the last Sunday of July has been designated as the date of the Serbian Day Picnic of Youngstown. This year the picnic, which originally took place at Idora Park, will take place on July 29th at the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church hall and pavilion (rain or shine)- 53 Laird Avenue in Youngstown from 11:30 am - 9:00 pm. The gathering was established by the founders of the church as a way to share fellowship and enjoy good food and music. The annual event continues with traditional foods for sale including chicken paprikash, roasted lamb and pork, kolbasi, sausages, homemade strudel, and donuts. Live musical entertainment will be provided by Night Owls Tamburitzans from 11:30 - 1:30 in the hall and by the Cleveland Serbs with guest Djuro Klipa from 3:00- 8:00 pm in the outdoor pavilion. A folklore dance performance by the children of Holy Trinity Church will take place at 6:00 pm. There will be activities and games for children and plenty of refreshments available.
