Long Description: Every Wednesday from July 6 through Aug. 10, the Mahoning Valley Historical Society will host Hands-On History open houses from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center, 325 W. Federal St., Youngstown. Each week will feature a local history theme and include programs, arts and crafts, games, activities, toys, artifacts and more. Activities are free and open the public. Participants will have a Hands-On History Passport; bring it each week for prizes. The July 13 program, "A Nation Divided," will offer participants the chance to enlist in Abraham Lincoln's army, play games and do crafts while learning about the Civil War.
