Long Description: The Youngstown Air Reserve Base Community Council’s Charitable Fund and Avalon Golf & Country Club are announcing the third annual Freedom Warrior Golf Outing set for July 13 at the Avalon Golf & Country Club golf courses including Avalon Lakes, Squaw Creek and Avalon at Buhl. The event is a four-person scramble that begins at 10 a.m. and includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and an adult only evening gala at Squaw Creek. Youngstown State University President Jim Tressel is the 2016 honorary chairman. Challenge coins will be provided to all golf participants in his honor. Ron Klingle, owner of Avalon Golf & Country Club has donated the courses and his staff. Registration fees will provide assistance to the disabled and disadvantaged veterans from the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys with basic, special and emergency needs. The YARBCC Charitable Fund is 501(c)(3), so donations are tax deductible. Registration is $250 per golfer or $1,000 for a team with the course designation based on a first come, first serve basis. Golfing also includes the evening event ticket. Tickets for the evening only are $75 per person for nongolfers. The gala will include hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, music by Rudy and The Professionals, a silent auction and raffles, ending with a fireworks display provided by Phantom Fireworks and Youngstown Phantoms.
