Long Description: The William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will host a "Memories of a Lifetime" program with Rick Rowlands at 10 a.m. Jan. 16 in the Kravitz Deli meeting room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty. Rowlands is the founder of the Youngstown Steel Heritage Museum, Youngstown Steel Heritage Foundation and the Tod Engine Project. He will present an overview of the industrial Steel Valley and his efforts to save the Jeanette Blast Furnace and other industrial artifacts from destruction. Topics include the legendary Tod Engine, the role of the Tod Family in local steel manufacturing and the Youngstown Sheet & Tube company logo. The event is open to the public. There will be free admission and free refreshments. The society will have a 50-50 raffle and goodwill offerings to benefit the society will be accepted. Call 330-726-8277 for reservations; however, walk-ins are also welcomed.
