Long Description: Throughout 2016, the Salem Parks and Recreation Department and Salem Public Library will provide a “Go Wild in the Park” event series. A Survivor 101 program with discussions and demonstrations by Scout Leader Jeff Howell and Salem Boy Scout Troop #3 will be 1:30 p.m. Jan. 16 on the Nature Trail at Waterworth Memorial Park. Topics will focus on how to dress to protect yourself in the winter, what should be included in a car survival kit, how to build an emergency shelter, gather food, make and use snowshoes and build a fire.
