Long Description: The NYO Property Group will celebrate the grand opening of the M Gallery at Erie Terminal Place, a new commercial gallery and event venue in downtown Youngstown on the first floor of Erie Terminal at 112 W. Commerce St., from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 26. An art exhibition, “Synthetic Nature” featuring watercolor paintings by John Guy Petruzzi, will also debut the same day. The M Gallery is an emerging creative space that connects the community of Youngstown with regionally acclaimed art and provides a dynamic place to gather friends, family and coworkers to share ideas and celebrate milestones. M Gallery is a cultural destination drawing new participants to engage the progressive realization of downtown Youngstown. M Gallery resides in the first floor of the restored historic Erie Terminal Building, once the Erie-Lackawanna passenger railway depot. Built in 1923, it was a significant hub as the only location for major rail lines between New York and Chicago, connecting thousands of travelers to Youngstown and the surrounding region. Newly appointed events manager and gallery director Johanna George describes,” Our vision for M Gallery is to honor the building’s history of being a place of connection and exchange by offering new opportunities to engage acclaimed art from the greater region and to gather the community for personal and public events. M Gallery extends to the founders’ dedication to family by adding a new cultural element to the vibrant downtown experience, nurturing the expanding urban neighborhood and local businesses. I am so thrilled to return to Youngstown to be part of this growth.” M Gallery displays rotating exhibitions by established and rising artists from the surrounding region and offer special public events. The public is invited to rent the space for holiday parties, business meetings, engagement announcements, weddings, showers, birthdays, fundraisers, anniversaries and creative events.
