Long Description: Second Sole and Mill Creek MetroParks offer this free public presentation by motivational speaker and former marathoner Dick Beardsley. Beardsley gained his biggest fame for losing the Boston marathon after a traffic control motorcycle cut in front of him. His retirement from running, an addiction to prescription pain medications, and the humiliation of his arrest form part of the tumultuous story of Beardsley’s inspiring return to sobriety and his renewed enthusiasm for life. This compelling speaker, author, athlete, and advocate for healthy, active, drug-free living will speak at 7 p.m. in McMahon Hall at the MetroParks Farm in Canfield. Reservations are required; call Second Sole at 330-758-8708.
