Long Description: Revisit the 50's during Bessemer Community Days "Sock Hop" Festival. On Friday, July 24, from 5-7pm, enjoy traditional picnic foods with a Picnic Buffet and soda fountain. Ticket costs are adults $8, 12 & under $5 and 3 & under free. Tickets must be purchased before 7/24. From 7-10pm the Dorals will entertain with dance contests for all ages with prizes. Saturday, July 25, begins with a parade at 11am. All day activities include rock & roll music by a DJ 50/50 cash raffle, Chinese Auction, Food Vendors, Crafters and Games. Special events include: 3 on 3 Basketball Tournaments (register at www.rjdentertainment.com/3on3/index.html), Car and Bike Show, FD Campbell Library book sale, Cheerleader and Dance line performances, Cake walk and Duck Derby. Try winning one of our many contests. They include: sundae contest, Twist, Limbo, & Hula hoop contest, Cake decorating contest and Sock Hop themed dress up contest. We will also collect donations of socks for charity. Enjoy music by the Country Wrangler Band from 7-10pm.
