Long Description: The Barrow-Civic Theatre in Franklin will host a special gala performance entitled “Black Tie Barrow” at 8 p.m. Saturday, August 22, to celebrate 50 years of ground-breaking local theatre by the Franklin Civic Operetta Association. The evening will feature the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with selections from “Cats” and “Phantom of the Opera.” Works from “Carousel”, “Showboat”, “Sound of Music”, and “West Side Story” will round out the program. Featuring elegant and powerful performances of music, theatre, opera, and dance, the show includes many favorite local artisits. Black tie pertains to the cast only; audience members need not dress formally. A champagne and hors d’oeuvres reception for ticket holders will be held in the theatre lobby beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased by calling the Box Office at 814-437-3440 (800-537-7769) or on-line at www.barrowtheatre.com.
