History
Lester Stanford Jr. (born December 15, 1979), better known by his stage name Stefano, is a Neo-soul Gospel singer, songwriter, and poet. Formally known by the gospel singing sensation, Young Men Sent (YMS) his solo debut release party was in 2006 at the Eastwood Expo, Niles, Oh. His album debut to be released in the summer of 2008, and features songs that lift your spirit like, “Say It” and “Just Know.” Prior to the release of his debut, Stefano’s career gained momentum through a series of successful venues such as the GMWA, AIM Convention, and Stellar Awards. He also has sung on the same stage as multiple established artists. Notably, Kirk Franklin, Rance Allen, Jars of Clay, Nevel Sisters, Karen Clark, Mary Mary, and many others. Stefano was born in Youngstown, Oh, to a hair stylist and a U.S. Army veteran. At the age of six, Stefano began singing Commission, Winans, and Michael Jackson songs and at the age of eight, he began singing with the youth choir at his church. As he grew he grew out of church and into the streets. When he was fourteen, his father got shot in front of him (dying later on) by his uncle causing him to renew his relationship with GOD. Soon after rejoining the church he began singing with YMS where he spent fourteen years singing. The group parted ways the end of 2006, but still inspired to use the gifts that GOD gave him, he is still trailblazing a new sound for the world to hear.
