History

Sara Michelle knew when she was a 13-year-old singing karaoke that she wanted to be a performer. Whenever Sara's school would allow it, she would jump at the chance to sing the National Anthem at sporting events. Once she got into high school, it wasn't just singing that thrilled her; she started to become passionate about performing in general. It was during those high school years that she performed as part of the musicals: "Fiddler on the Roof," "42nd street," and in her senior year she ws cast as the lead in, "The Music Man." She then became a member of a traveling singing group called the mini-stars and was honored by being featured in the 8th annual "Stars of Tomorrow" talent show, held at the New Castle Playhouse. Nearly a hundred performers auditioned for the event and only twenty-five were selected. Things progressed very naturally for Sara, she began doing performances with the Mon-Valley Orchestra, from Pittsburgh, and was invited to sing at the Fourth of July Kennywood amusement park celebration. That was her first really big show, and the next thing she, knew, she was singing the National Anthem at the Freedom Feast, where Lee Greenwood was headlining. After graduation form high school in 2005, Sara was planning on attending Kent State University for theater. Just as she was packing her bags for college, a very exciting step forward occurred in her singing career. She received a call from John Carter Cash, who had listened to her demo and requested to produce her master CD. Sara and her Mother then flew down to Nashville and Sara went right to work in the studio. Cash brought in some of the best studio musicians in Nashville to play on Sara's CD. Musicians like Jamie Hartford, who was the actual guitartist on the soundtrack for the motion picture of 'Walk the Line.' The backing vocals were done by Harry Stenson and Laura Cash, who both sang back up and traveled with Patty Loveless. Harry also sang back up for Vince Gill and played drums on Marty Stewart's new record. while recording her master CD, Sara and Cash co-wrote one of Sara's first songs, "Paint by Number Dreams." Shortly after recording they began to co-write on a few other songs as well. Upon returning home from Nashville, Sara was then asked by a local radio station Froggy 95, to sing for their Toys for Tot's hurricane relief effort. She then had the honor of opening for the Povertyneck Hillbillies at selected shows, including their CD release party at the cellar with K105 and Rust Records. Sara has a brand new band, and is performing her live shows in clubs and festivals around the region. Sara is working hard pursuing her dream of becoming a national recording artist.
