The care and concern for Howland native Csala Beers comes home this weekend for a fundraiser. And a bit positive light has been cast just in time for the fundraiser.

Beers, 31, is the person we featured several weeks back. She showed a level of love that many would find difficult to do.

In 2013, she married Dan Beers of the Allentown, Pa., area, where they both reside. A man of immense adventure, Dan was left a paraplegic from an accident 11 years earlier.

Csala had the courage to not see Dan's chair. That courage is being tested some more. On Feb. 1, Csala herself was in a wreck and lost her ability to walk.

This Sunday, friends and family will host a spaghetti lunch at Leavittsburg Community Church. The event runs from 12:30 p.m. till 3 p.m., with tickets at $8 for adults, $4 for kids 5-12, free for younger.

For questions, contact Robyn Budd at 330-550-7822 or Bethany Williams at 234-855-6493.

Robyn sent along a video clip of Csala from her last day in in-patient rehab. On that last day, Csala moved her legs. It was far from majestic movement, but movement nonetheless — which is majestic considering her accident.

"The therapists were working with her, and she just lifted it up.  I guess everyone stood back and then made her do it several times. They kept getting in other nurses from the facility to watch. She was turned, and she was able to do it on the other side. She still has no feeling in the legs but was able to pull them up," said Robyn.-->

Csala's spnal cord injury has been classified as an incomplete tear and not a severed cord. While she was able to move her legs a bit, there is still no sense of feeling for her below the waist.

Robyn said walking with a cane is now a possibile outcome with this diagnosis. But is a long time down the road — with much therapy and many costs still to figure out.
