We've had fun the last few years with throwing a tailgate party before Valley high school football games, joined by our friends from Lariccia's Italian Marketplace in Boardman and Flynn's Tire and Auto.

We get to about 5 games per season, and this season starts this week with Friday night's Boardman vs. Fitch match, then Saturday's YSU vs. Northern Iowa game.

Watch for us at both games with free hot dogs and drinks, YSU ticket prizes, Flynn car fresheners, corn toss, video football contests and more.

At Fitch, we will be open at 5:30 and be neighbors to Fitch's Hall of Fame celebration crowd.

At YSU, we will be down in the tailgate lot with Comdoc, Wells-Fargo, First Place Bank and more. Lariccia's and Flynn's will be there, and special for us at YSU will be our friends from the Shale Tavern & Grille serving their tasty treats, and YSU beat writer Joe Scalzo playing YSU trivia with the crowd.
