Here is part three of my ten part series chronicling my wine joinery through Australia and New Zealand.

I had a chance to visit one of my all time favorite Australian wineries as part of this epic trip. I have been an admirer of Two Hands Bella's Garden and Lilly's Garden Shiraz for years and have multiple vintagers in my collection.

I had a great experience at Two Hands as I was guided through a remarkable tasting by Jessica Rehn. Jessica was quite knowledgable about the different soil types around Barossa and even provided me with soil and rock samples with the wines I was tasting.

Jessica also provided great energy and created a relaxed and fun atmosphere during my visit. Many of the wines she poured showed beautifully. Here's a look a few highlights:

2015 Brave Faces

Barossa Valley Grenache - Mouvedre - Shiraz. Great red / black fruits with fired herbs and a hint of savory spices.

2015 Gnarly Dudes

Barossa Valley Shiraz with deep cherry and pomegranate with aromas of dried red flowers and hints of green herbs.

2015 Angel's Share

McLaren Vale Shiraz with blackberry, plum and subtle blueberry notes and a mild mid-palate spice profile. Great value here.

2015 Charlie's Garden

Eden Valley Shiraz that presents lighter in body on the nose and front palate. Dense red fruits come forward with subtle spice.

2015 Bella's Garden

Barossa Valley Shiraz with intense black cherry and cassis with great tannic structure and a lively finish. Highly ageable.

Thanks to the folks at Two Hands and Heidelberg Distributing for making this visit happen. It was a great tasting and learning experience for me.
