Round 2 of the Badurik's Butcher Block Meat 16 is ready to roll. It will be interesting to see if the restaurants use the burger that got them to the second round or unveil a new masterpiece.

ROUND 2, MATCH 9 - On May 2nd, number 1 seed Bogey's Bar & Grill takes on Coaches Burger Bar. Both restaurants enter the 2nd round by virtue of 2 - 1 decisions; Bogey's over Ice House Inn, and Coaches surprising last year's Mahoning county champ, Davidson's. Winner advances to the final 4 to face the Phoenix Fire Grill vs. Magic Tree winner on May 16th.

ROUND 2, MATCH 10 - Over in Trumbull county, also on May 2nd, Sunrise Inn, one of only 3 restaurants to gain a 3 - 0 decision in the 1st round, has their buns full going up against The Lime Tree Sandwich Gallery. In the 1st round, The Lime Tree shocked Big D's, the 2017 Meat 16 champion, in a 2 - 1 squeaker.

ROUND 2, MATCH 11 - On May 9th, Magic Tree Pub & Eatery, looking to take the next step in regaining the title the won in 2016, will be tested by The Phoenix Fire Grill & Bar. Magic Tree took a 3 - 0 round 1 verdict over Mojo's Pub while The Phoenix edged out The Pour House, 2 - 1.

ROUND 2, MATCH 12 - The last piece of the final 4 puzzle will be decided on May 10th when Chef Tank leads Peter Allen Inn to battle with High Pointe Restaurant & Tavern. High Pointe surprised The Lake Tavern in a close 2 - 1 match, but they'll have to have their pickles in place against Peter Allen Inn who wowed the 1st round judges, 3 - 0.

We want to remind everyone that this contest is just a fun, friendly competition among local restaurants. It is not to determine who makes the best cheeseburger in the valley. It's to see who can come up with the most creative burger recipe that will impress at least 2 out of 3 random judges in each round of a 4 round tournament. It is our view, all of these burgers are awesome and that's why they're in the tournament! We encourage you to judge them for yourself and let us know if you agree with our judges.
