The gauntlet was thrown down early as 93.3 DJ Fast Freddie hosted the first match of the 2018 Badurik's Butcher Block Meat 16 between The Ice House Inn and Bogey's Bar & Grill. These two burgers stood toe to toe and unleashed some flavor bombs. The Ice House brought the “Zack Attack” with flavors coming from all over -- roast beef, sautéed mushrooms, onions, a cheddar cheese sauce, an onion ring with chipotle bbq to bring it all together. Bogey’s gave the 4 Cheese Frisco bacon Burger, featuring American, provolone, hot pepper and white American cheese. It was topped with a hickory smoked bacon and special Frisco sauce on a sliced brioche. Judge Morris Ray (AM 570 talk show host) gave in first with a vote for Bogey’s. Judge Tom Christmas (of Christmas Automotive and Fat n Furious television fame) took the other side with a vote for Ice House, leaving Kim Hoover (of Kim’s Confections in Canfield) to cast the deciding vote. With that little extra, Kim chose Bogey’s as victor. Bogey’s advances to the next round with a 2 -1 vote, where they will face the winner of the April 18 match between Davidson's Restaurant & Tavern (Cornersburg) and Coaches Burger Bar (Poland).
