Most of us have heard the legend of Hans Brinker. Well, you know the legend, maybe not the name.

  Hans Brinker,'The Hero of Haarlem',was the heroic Dutch  boy who saves the land from drowning by putting his finger in the dyke all night long.

 Hans but was actually a literary invention by the American writer Mary Elizabeth Mapes Dodge.

Hans tried to plug a leak, obviously there was a craftsmanship issue with the dyke...a leak...something got out that wasn't supposed to get out - in the case of Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates, it was water, in the case of alleged paedophile Jerry Sandusky, it was the truth.

Question: How many times have we heard similar stories - stories where certain people in power have a structure around them that prevents the truth from leaking out ?

Answer: too many, TOO MANY!!!

I don't understand why organizations protect paedophiles that hurt children entrusted to them.

How many stories have we heard about religious organizations sticking their fingers in the dyke of truth attempting to prevent leaks? Again, too many...and now we learn that adults  in  another POWERFUL organization KNEW that children were being victimized and did little or nothing. My mind almost chokes when I say they did LITTLE....VERY little !

On the show I've asked : if your neighbor's house was on fire, and you told someone to call 911 and no one came - would you let your neighbor's house burn down? Of course NOT . You'd make CERTAIN that the fire fighters arrived, even by calling them directly.

The  truth about the Penn state paedophiles is JUST starting to rear it's ugly head. The excuse-making, buck-passing, paedophile-partners are just beginning to be exposed as the truth is just beginning to leak out.

How many victims? - We'll never know just how many were victimized by Jerry Sandusly's actions, we'll never know how many were victimized by the inaction of those who chose to say nothing, to look away or to follow some paedophile-protecting 'chain of command'.

When the leaks in the dyke become too many for the paedophile partners to plug, the truth rushes out. Some of the suffering  victims come forward, some suffer in silence .

As we've seen with the Penn State case, leaks begin elsewhere. We'll continue to learn about other victims , other paedophiles and their paedophile partners that try to finger the dyke attemping to keep the truth from flowing out.
