The Mill Creek Parks Metro Mutts group celebrated Easter on April 20 with a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Group organizer Dana Sidney organized the event, which she said the group puts on annually.

“We like to do holiday events, including the Easter Bunny and Santa on Christmas,” Sidney said.

The Metro Mutts group hosts free walks twice a month for community members to attend.

After this hike around Mill Creek group members gathered at Bears Den Cabin for refreshments and photos.

“It’s a lot of fun, it’s a great way for the dogs to have a good time too,” Sidney said.

A photographer from Mill Creek Park took photos of the animals and their owners.

The Metro Mutts group can be joined by anyone for their monthly walk, though Sidney said certain events are members only.

Members of the group are allowed to take free trolly and boat rides with their dogs during different parts of the year.

“We get to do a lot, it can be a lot of fun,” Sidney said.

To become a member of the group community members can pay $35 either on the Mill Creek Park website or by mail.

Sidney said that new this year the group is also being joined by various adoptable dogs.

Volunteers from local animal shelters occasionally bring different dogs that are available for adoption on the Metro Mutts hikes.

“It has become a great way to connect dog lovers with dogs that need homes,” Sidney said.
