AUCTION

Canfield Republican Women’s Club will sponsor its sixth Annual PAC Quarter Auction on June 5 at the Shrine Club Pavilion, 1735 W. South Range Road, North Lima. Dress for the weather. CLASSES

Boardman-Glenwood Middle School, 7635 Glenwood Ave., will be the site of the iCAN Shine Bike Camp that will take place June 10-14. The camp uses adaptive bicycles, specialized instructional programs and trained staff to enable individuals with a disability to learn to ride a conventional bike. Riders attend one 75-minute session each day for five consecutive days. Cost for members of the Down Syndrome Association of the Mahoning Valley is $50 and $75 for nonmembers. Salem Public Library will offer a 12-week series of tai ji classes that will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. June 5 through Aug. 21 in Centennial Park, pavilion 2. Instructor will be Master Doug Nybell, owner of Crystal Dragon Family Martial Arts in Columbiana. Tai ji is a Chinese martial art that promotes good health. It is low impact with flowing movements that can be beneficial to individuals with some physical limitations. Classes are free and for adults of all ages. Columbiana Area Tourism Bureau will host the 2019 Columbiana Wine Festival from 4 to 9 p.m. July 19 and from 2 to 9 p.m. July 20 in the Town Center at Firestone Farms, 101 Town Center Ave. The $1 each water and pop sales will benefit Community Hospice. Friends of the Mahoning River will host its eighth annual RiverFest from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Free admission and parking. Roll 2 Recovery will take place at 8:30 a.m. June 24. Kyle Kolat of Champion, an 11-year-old who is a national champion speed skater, will skate from northern Bristol Township, follow 17.6 miles of Mahoning Avenue and end at Kent State University Trumbull. He will skate to raise funds for Adult and Teen Challenge, a Christian-based drug- and alcohol-addiction rehabilitation treatment center for teens and adults. Sunshine Benefit Outing will sponsor its 14th annual event July 20 at Lakeside Golf Course, 2404 SE River Road, Lake Milton. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Kimberly L. Armstrong of Boardman, a mother of two who is battling stage 4 breast cancer. Armstrong is employed in the lab department at St. Elizabeth Health Center. The outing is a three-person scramble that includes a continental breakfast with lunch at the turn. A steak fry will follow at Magilla’s Sports Bar, 225 Four Mile Run Road, Austintown. The dinner includes the awarding of prizes for hole events, a 50-50 raffle and raffle prizes. Cost is $225 per team, which includes food and cocktails. Mahoning Valley Astronomical Society will host its seventh annual Bill Pearce Memorial Star Party from 9 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Pogany Pavilion in Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road, weather permitting.
