Church G.A.B. sale canceled

Howland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road SE, has canceled the garage, attic and basement sale that was scheduled to take place Saturday. The event has been canceled due to an emergency.

SRMC Auxiliary to host summer raffle

SALEM

Salem Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is announcing its summer raffle that will take place through Sept. 11. Tickets will be available for $1 each or six for $5 at SRMC’s Look Nook Gift Shop, 1995 E. State St.

Auxiliary members also will sell tickets in the SRMC cafeteria from 8 to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 29 through 30 and at the Salem Giant Eagle from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 14, July 12 and Aug. 16. Winner will be drawn Sept. 12 at the auxiliary’s monthly meeting.

The prize is a backyard barbecue party for up to 10 people provided by Boneshakers of Salem. The package includes ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, au gratin potatoes, coleslaw, baked beans and dessert. For information, call 330-337-2883. Raffle proceeds benefit patient care and comfort at SRMC.

‘Art in the Park’ set for June 1

The Salem Parks and Recreation Department and Salem Public Library will sponsor “Art in the Park” at 10 a.m. June 1 at Waterworth Memorial Park, in the Orashan Band Shell area (Sunset Boulevard off of N. Lincoln Ave). There will be performances by Dave Byers and John Volio, Diane Dracho, Ron Grey and Stage Left Dancers. Rick Everhart, magician and balloon artist, also will provide entertainment. Food and concessions will be available. The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Villa Maria to host summer day camps

VILLA MARIA, PA.

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center, 2067 Evergreen Road, will host two summer day camps for children. Lunch and snacks will be provided during both camps.

GROW Camp, for children entering grades kindergarten through fifth, is available for Thursday or Friday session from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 13 or 14 through Aug. 8 or 9. This is a once-a-week gardening and outdoor activity camp which includes planting and tending a garden, swimming and nature activities.

REACH Camp, for youths entering sixth- through ninth-grade, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays from June 12 through Aug. 7. There will be service opportunities, games, swimming and various forms of art available.

Registrations open for YWCA camps

The YWCA locations in Warren and Youngstown are accepting registrations for summer camps, Y-Girls STEAM Ahead, which will focus on engaging middle-school girls in science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics. The YWCA Youngstown camps will take place Monday through Friday each week from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 10 through 14; June 17 through 21; and June 24 through 28. Registration is $60 per camp or $150 for three weeks.

The camp at YWCA Warren will take place Monday through Friday each week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8 through Aug. 9 and will host a different theme each week. Registration is $50 per person for the five-week program.

Registration fees include meals, snacks, and all supplies for camp activities. Enrollment is open to all girls in the Mahoning Valley who are entering grades 5 through 8.
