Youngstown oldies at West Side Bowl

YOUNGSTOWN

Another Peppermint Records DJ Night will take place from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday at West Side Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave. The event features Dean Anshutza of Red Wanting Blue, Anthony LaMarca of The War on Drugs and David Pokrivnak playing music from their collections of Youngstown bands, mainly recorded at Peppermint Studio in the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.

A line dancing night will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Leon’s, 1111 Niles Cortland Road (state Route 46), featuring the Nice Band, DJ Dr. G. Admission is free.

A new line dance will be led by the Hubbard High School Eagle mascot. Inside the Eagle costume is Isaac Powell, who recently took first place in a spirit competition at Walt Disney World.
