TODAY

Canfield Christian Church, 123 S. Broad St., Canfield, will host Lenten breakfasts from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. each Wednesday through April 17. Meals are free, but donations will be accepted.

THURSDAY

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., North Lima, will sponsor a drive-through chicken dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Meals are $7 and will feature stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. Dinners may be reserved by calling 330-549-2588.

Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Grace Lutheran Church 162 S. Raccoon Rd., Austintown, will host a drive-through stuffed chicken dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The menu includes a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, and a brownie for $7. Pepperoni rolls also will be available for $2. Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for fresh potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. or until sold out Thursday and at 10:30 a.m. Friday, if available, by calling 330-746-9528. Pick up will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Lunches also will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell pirogi from 8 a.m. until sold out. Call in orders to 330-755-1316 starting at 8 a.m. until sold out Friday. Choose potato, kraut or prune pirogi at $6 per dozen. Pickup will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins not accepted.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will have a pirogi sale. The cost is $6 per dozen. Potato, cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi are available. St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, is selling potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $7 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-in orders are welcome.

VFW Col. Louis J. Campbell Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad, bread and butter and coffee. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $4 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $8 and will be available until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

VFW Post 2799 Auxiliary will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. at the post home, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield. Menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, Italian bread, coffee or tea. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.

FRIDAY

American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will host a dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Meals feature a choice of haddock, chicken or shrimp with fries, coleslaw and a roll for $10.50. Girard Knights of Columbus Council 2935 will host fish dinners at the K. of C. Hall, 122 S. St. Brendan Parish, 144 N. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, will serve sit-down or take-out fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. in Maxwell Hall. There will be a choice of beer-battered, fried, baked or cajun-style fish, with a choice of haluski, seasoned fries, macaroni and cheese or parsley potatoes; coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and cake and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under. Cold beverages will be available for purchase. Extra sides are $3 each, and an extra piece of fish is $6. Green Township Fire Department will host its annual all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 6:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Proceeds will go to the Green Township Fire Department for the purchase of fire & EMS equipment.

SUNDAY

Fowler Fire Department will host its monthly pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station, state Route 193. Cost is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for children. Preschool children eat for free.

Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department will host a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jackson Township Administration Building, 10613 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson. Breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage, coffee, tea, milk, juice or water. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children age 5 to 12, and free to children under 4. Carryouts available. There will be a basket auction and 50-50 raffle.

Kinsman Presbyterian Church Men’s Organization will sponsor a roast beef dinner from noon to 2 p.m. at the church, 6383 Church St. Carry out will be available. The menu will include roast beef, scalloped potatoes, tossed salad, applesauce, bread and ice cream. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children.

Southington American Legion Post, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Children younger than 4 eat for free. Menu includes pancakes, sausage, French toast or biscuits and gravy.

Holy Apostles Parish at SS. Peter & Paul Croatian Catholic Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown, is taking Easter carryout orders only for homemade stuffed cabbage. First Presbyterian Church of Girard will be selling broccoli-cheese-potato soup, chicken noodle soup, and potato soup, homemade pepperoni rolls, fresh baked bread, and homemade sticky buns Saturday. The soup is $5 a quart and $3 a pint. The pepperoni rolls are $8 for the large (15 inch) and $2.50 for a single. Bread is $2 for a large loaf and $1.50 a for a small loaf. Sticky buns are 4 for $2.50. This is the last soup sale of the season. Orders can be placed by calling 330-759-1460. Knights of Columbus 3930 will sponsor a pasta dinner fundraiser from noon to 5 p.m. March 24 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. Proceeds benefit Matt Johnson who lost his mother in a car accident. Dinners include pasta, meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter, dessert and beverages. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children age 6-12, and free for children age 5 and under. There will also be a 50-50 raffle and a basket auction.

Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., will host its Easter bake sale from 6 to 8 p.m. April 20. Easter pascha, Easter bread, strudel and kolachi will be available and will be first come, first-served as quantities are limited. Prices vary from $7 to $20.

Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church will sponsor a free neighborhood community dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 26 at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown.

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield Niles Road, Austintown, will host Supper at the Corner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. March 21. The meal is free as a community outreach of the church. Donations accepted to continue the program.

Trinity Fellowship Church, 4749 South Ave., Boardman, will host the David El’Hatton Memorial Scholarship Spaghetti Dinner from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 23. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Add chicken Parmesan for an additional $5. Dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, dessert, coffee, iced tea and water. Soda available for an extra charge. The event will include a 50-50 drawing, silent auction and entertainment throughout the day.

Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, will host its 43rd annual President’s Benefit Goulash dinner at 6:30 p.m. March 30. Doors open at 6. The event is open to the public.
