Poland Seminary High School students participated in the school’s annual spring band concert on May 14.

Members of the school’s symphonic band and wind ensemble performed during the event.

Director Jeff Hvizdos said that the students graduating that year were one of the most talented groups he has ever worked with.

“They are just wonderful and it’s sad to say goodbye at this last concert of the year,” Hvizdos said.

Each of the groups performed a number of songs, including selections from the school’s spring musical, “Shrek the Musical.”

Three senior soloists also performed during the event. Senior Mum Masaki, trombone player; Corrine Kramer, Oboe player, and Ellie Blasko, Piano player, performed their senior solos for the community.

“I really want to thank the band parents for their unwavering support,” Hvizdos said.

Hvizdos also thanked assistant band director Jeff Penney during the event.

“A lot of what you see up here would not have been possible without him,” Hvizdos said.

This was the last concert of the year for the school, though Hvizdos invited graduating seniors to perform with the band at the Memorial Day parade.
